Director’s Message

Assalamualaikum WBT and Greetings to all.
Welcome to Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Press.
UPM Press was established to support the objective of UPM to become a leading Research-based
University in Malaysia. UPM Press strives towards strengthening the mind, and disseminating a high level
of knowledge, following the Quran’s requirements; Tatadabbarun and Tatazakkarun. UPM Press is also
committed to developing and building the country’s civilisation to a higher level, and providing overall
awareness on the importance of a ‘reading culture’, books and knowledge among society.
As a Director, my major hope is that UPM Press will increase its publication rate, without neglecting its primary
focus on high-quality academic publications based on research, in both Malay and English. I would like
to congratulate all the staff at UPM Press who have worked hard all this while in maintaining the overall
publication quality. It is hoped that these academic publication efforts can be channelled to society as a
whole. I also welcome suggestions and opinions that may be a useful source of reference for
the UPM Press staff as a whole.
UPM Press will continue to work towards instilling a reading culture in society by
continuously producing interesting, beneficial and high-quality published works.
